There is literally no end to what all human beings can go out and achieve, but when push comes to shove, there is still an awful little that we do better than growing on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has empowered the world to clock some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiate a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, this revolution eventually went on to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new construction themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
Topcon Positioning Systems has officially confirmed the launch of its new integration-platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) called Aptix, which specializes in managing heavy civil construction projects. According to certain reports, the stated solution will deliver notable utility by automating and orchestrating distribution of data between office and jobsite. The kind of data we are talking about here includes machine control files, constructible models, project schedules, reports on actuals, and more. Apart from that, Aptix is seemingly well-equipped to relay the location of machines in real-time, and complementing this feature is the product’s ability in terms of aggregating as-built data from mixed fleet telematics. However, this is not where Aptix’s real-time reporting capabilities end, considering it also boasts a deep sense of knowhow to inform you on people, material, and other aspects of machinery, while simultaneously delivering a lowdown on your carbon dioxide emissions.
“Without up-to-date, accessible, and actionable information, construction teams will always struggle to communicate and collaborate,” said James Cook, director, partner integrations at Autodesk Construction Solutions. “With Aptix’s integration of Autodesk Construction Cloud, teams can ensure critical information is accessible to all the stakeholders that need it, helping companies more easily build and collaborate.”
Another functionality which reinforces the value-centric nature of Aptix is the way it can automate the distribution of constructible models and scheduled task changes. The solution is able to achieve this through integration with industry-standard applications, including Autodesk Construction Cloud and Microsoft OneDrive. Given it has the means to work seamlessly alongside these platforms, Aptix can monitor file updates within Autodesk Build, Autodesk Docs, BIM 360 and Microsoft OneDrive, and as soon as a constructible model or schedule change occurs, it automatically distributes these updates to concerned stakeholders, Such a feature should make it possible for operators to always have the most up-to-date models and scheduled tasks, and as for project managers, it hands them the access to latest reports.
“By automating previously manual processes, Aptix eliminates time-consuming and error-prone data entry, allowing construction professionals to focus on more strategic tasks. Project managers can make better, more informed decisions by having real-time visibility into project progress and potential roadblocks. We are confident that Aptix will optimize how construction projects are managed, providing a powerful new tool for construction professionals looking to improve their project management processes,” said Jason Hallett, vice president and general manager at Topcon Integration Services.
Operating out of Livermore, California, Topcon Positioning Systems’ rise is strung together by its glorious track record in providing cutting-edge technology to construction, geospatial, and agriculture markets. Keeping a constant focus on enhancing workflows, the company’s assortment of solutions currently includes vertical construction monitoring, OEM solutions, site automation, earthworks, BIM, tunneling, and more.
