Solving an Overlooked Construction Epidemic

Human beings are known for a myriad of different things, but most importantly, they are known for getting better on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has brought the world some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it will become abundantly clear how the whole runner is also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiate a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, this revolution eventually went on to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new construction-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.

Canopy has officially launched its first ever tool, and to begin the journey, it has made a point to solve an overlooked construction epidemic, which is tradespeople and truck owners losing tools, equipment, and gear to theft on the jobsite. Named as Canopy Pickup Cam, the stated product is a specialized security camera for pickup trucks, a camera which is designed to provide real-time truck bed monitoring when the owner is away from their vehicle. Talk about the product’s capabilities in a bit more detail, it serves you a 180° wide field of view, a view which will be captured in HD. Complimenting the same is a dynamic LED bar to serve as an initial deterrent, which should prove useful in sending out a signal that the vehicle is under intelligent surveillance. Moving on, every Pickup Cam is notably connected with a dedicated Canopy Hub, which bears the responsibility to provide cellular connectivity and power that might be necessary for facilitating continuous monitoring of your truck. More on the Canopy Hub, it not only has the means to hand you the relevant live footage, but it also delivers an uninterrupted access of all past recordings. As for the very security of these recordings, they are stored in a fully-encrypted manner using the cloud technology.

“Every day, vehicle owners load their trucks with the tools that make their work possible. These vehicles are designed to transport their livelihood, yet, they offer little protection. Traditional security measures, such as lockboxes, cables, and covers add unnecessary time and effort to the work day,” said Christian Moran CEO of Canopy. “The harsh reality is most people who use these products don’t find out about a theft until it’s too late. At Canopy, we saw these problems as an opportunity to redefine vehicle security. We combined the benefits found in smart home technology with our automotive and AI expertise to deliver a great connected experience for vehicle owners.”

Now, although it’s great that this cam can be like a pair of eyes for the user while they are not around their vehicle, it remains absolutely important to timely alert them in an event where a theft is actually happening. Hence, to do so, the Canopy Pickup Cam dispatches push notifications as soon as it detects any suspicious activity. Hold on, we aren’t done yet, considering you’ll also have access to an on-demand emergency option, which is meant to connect you with an ADT professional monitoring agent. Anyway, this Canopy offering can be scaled up to an even higher level through what would be a subscription. Allowing the company to protect vehicles in various different locations, the said subscription will extend a wide assortment of connected capabilities, including 4G LTE connectivity, secure cloud storage for data, real-time alerts, and access to future software updates alongside new feature rollouts.
