Building Better Mobility on the Back an Efficient Take on Tires

Bridgestone Americas has officially announced the launch of two new tires under its Firestone line, with the arrivals being Transforce HT3 and CV2, both featuring the ENLITEN™ technology.

According to certain reports, the stated fleet tires are designed to deliver wet-weather performance, low-speed refinement, confident high-speed handling, and exceptional wear life. Furthermore, they can seamlessly maximize wear performance to help improve sustainability over the life of the tire.

More on the same would reveal how Transforce HT3 and CV2 tires were each created to excel in different facets of the commercial highway tire market. You see, while HT3 tire is for heavy-duty trucks, the CV2 tire is geared towards supporting those last-mile delivery vans. Having said so, the pair in question does feature some important similarities. For instance, they both come bearing construction and tread pattern, sidewall design, and tread compound which benefits their unique use cases.

Talk about each product on a slightly deeper level, we begin from HT3, which is designed for heavy-duty trucks with a high rim diameter between 16- and 20-inches. Offered strictly in LT sizing, the stated product put on the table long-lasting and reliable wear. This it achieves on the back of its new compound, something which is very much designed to prevent irregular wear. Apart from that, the Transforce HT3 also features a tread pattern, complimenting the same through interlocking 3D sipes to help provide uniform stiffness and resiliency that fights irregular wear, even when loaded.

Next up, the particular model also brings to the fore dependable wet traction, a capability that treads up a long distance to avoid the added stress of hauling heavy loads in the rain. In case this wasn’t impressive enough, then we ought to mention how Transforce HT3 also features open shoulder slots and a high see-through void to accelerate water evacuation from the pattern and improve wet performance, even when loaded.

“Our goal for the Firestone Transforce HT3 and CV2 tires was to create two surefooted commercial highway tires that hold up to the strenuous duties of fleet service while focusing on a quiet and long riding experience,” said Jeremy Norwood, Chief Engineer for Consumer Replacement Product Engineering at Bridgestone America. “Transforce HT3 and CV2 deliver the performance that fleet managers expect—so much so that they won’t even think about the tire.”

Moving on to Transforce CV2, it again delivers long-lasting and reliable treadwear, leveraging Firestone’s long-wearing compound, along with a tread pattern purpose-built to resist irregular wear. Furthermore, the tire has interlocking sipes placed rather strategically in place to ensure uniform tread stiffness and resiliency throughout the pattern.

Next up, we must dig into the tire’s reinforced sidewall durability, which helps you feel a lot more confident in regards to driving near the curb. Joining the mix is a sidewall defense rib designed for added durability and chip-tear resistance. Then, there is Transforce CV2’s ability to generate wet and winter traction. Here, an open shoulder design and high see-through void help accelerate water away from the tread pattern for confident wet performance, and on the other hand, interlocking sipes step in to add dependable winter traction

Finally, our last piece of highlight comes from the promise of efficient rolling resistance. In essence, the Transforce CV2 is built to help cut fuel costs. Furthermore, it is designed to optimize fuel efficiency and rolling resistance, even in stop-and-start delivery applications.
