Shenzhen, China, 27 January 2026 – Elegoo has officially launched the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, a closed-frame fused-filament 3D printer designed for households, schools, and beginners who want multicolor printing without complicated setup or manual filament changes. The new model follows the original Centauri Carbon and focuses on ease of use, quiet operation, and reliable results in shared living spaces.
At the heart of the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo is Elegoo’s CANVAS multicolor system. This setup allows the printer to handle four different filament colors automatically. It manages color switching, quick filament loading, backup spool selection, and even helps prevent tangles. For beginners, RFID tags on filament spools help the printer recognize material types and suggest suitable print settings, reducing the need for manual tuning.
The printer is built to simplify daily use. It features automated calibration powered by 31 internal sensors that handle bed leveling and basic process checks. With a one-click start, users can begin printing without worrying about common setup errors. Print monitoring helps catch problems early, making the experience less stressful for new users.
Elegoo has also focused on making the printer home-friendly. The enclosed design keeps noise levels around 45 decibels, making it suitable for bedrooms or living areas. A 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with support for 11 languages allows easy access for multiple users in a household. Temperature control inside the enclosure, combined with an automatically managed air grille, helps keep prints stable and consistent.
The Centauri Carbon 2 Combo supports a wide range of materials, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and fiber-reinforced filaments. A hardened steel nozzle rated to 350 degrees Celsius and a heated bed that reaches up to 110 degrees Celsius allow the printer to handle higher-temperature and abrasive materials with confidence. A multi-fan cooling system helps maintain print quality even at faster speeds.
In terms of size and performance, the printer offers a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume and a maximum stated print speed of 500 mm per second. The unit weighs 19.35 kilograms and supports common file formats such as STL, OBJ, 3MF, and STEP.
The printer is fully integrated into Elegoo’s software ecosystem. Users can discover models through Nexprint, slice files using ElegooSlicer, and manage prints remotely via the Matrix mobile app. This setup allows users to monitor and control prints from elsewhere in the home, adding convenience for busy households.
One of the biggest highlights is pricing. In the United States, the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo is priced at $449, making multicolor, enclosed 3D printing more affordable than many competing models. The printer is available directly through Elegoo’s website in the U.S., Canada, the European Union, Australia, and Japan, with regional pricing adjusted to local markets.
With its focus on simplicity, quiet operation, and accessible pricing, the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo aims to make multicolor 3D printing practical for everyday users, students, and families exploring creative technology at home.
