The human identity is carefully built upon a unique set of factors, and yet none define us better than our ability to grow on a consistent basis. This commitment towards getting better, no matter the situation, has already enabled the world to clock some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for one hot second, it will become abundantly clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiated a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, the next thing this revolution did was to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new construction-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
Panasonic Connect North America has officially introduced a set of new enhancements for its TOUGHBOOK 55 laptop, a semi-rugged laptop made for construction professionals. According to certain reports, the updated device runs on 13th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 Processor, alongside Intel vPro Technology. It further comes decked up with a secondary NVMe OPAL SSD, delivering high bandwidth and low latency for contractors handling complex blueprints, or automotive technicians performing intricate vehicle diagnostics and maintenance. Users of the new laptop can also access Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support connection speeds, as well as options to enable workers in the context of retrieving, analyzing, and transmitting data in real time. Next up, we have 92dB speakers that include dual array microphones for those operating in loud environments. Not just that, they now boast an artificial intelligence element which is there to automatically reduce background noise pickup. The whole thing becomes all the more impressive once you consider that TOUGHBOOK 55 is also given a new interface for programmable keys, an interface which goes a long way in delivering a more intuitive experience when assigning shortcuts to applications and common actions. A similar upgrade reveals itself, if you look at the laptop’s customizable color-selectable keyboard that offers four preset options and the ability to create custom colors. Such a mechanism, like you can guess, bears a lot of the responsibility to tailor the experience to the user’s unique preferences.
“Continuing to enhance our end-to-end solution offerings exemplifies Panasonic’s unwavering commitment to empowering mobile workers who operate in the most challenging conditions,” said Dominick Passanante, vice president of Mobility Business at Panasonic Connect North America. “Designed with direct input and insights from our customers, the TOUGHBOOK 55 doesn’t just meet expectations. It redefines what mission-critical tools should be and elevates the customer experience now and into the future.”
Moving on, the upgrade provides mission critical workers with the uninterrupted access to an array of user-upgradeable expansion areas (xPAKs). The significance attached to the said functionality talks to enabling mobile workers to connect multiple accessories, such as external keyboards. Another detail worth a mention here is concerned with a contactless smartcard reader, which installs dedicated support for more contactless cards in order to meet professionals’ security and identification needs, thus simplifying authentication procedures to an important degree.
Among other features, TOUGHBOOK 55 has for you a 14-in. FHD 1,000 nit touchscreen, main storage worth 512GB-2TB NVMe, and 16-64GB DDR4 RAM. In case the given value proposition is still not attractive enough for you, then we must touch on its USB-A and USB-C ports, including Thunderbolt 4 port that supports 40Gbps data transfer speeds, power delivery, and daisy chaining. Further in place is an infrared webcam with privacy cover, joined by rugged certifications like 3-ft. drop rating, MIL-STD-810H, and IP53, and a battery life of over 10 hours. Notably enough, you can extend this duration to 20 hours through an optional second battery.
Going beyond the device itself, Panasonic uses a TOUGHBOOK as a Service (TaaS) program to offer a subscription model to customers, and at the same time provide an OPEX solution to help organizations stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
Rounding off the highlights is how the company, in its bid to help customers set up and maintain solutions, supplies staff augmentation and last-mile deployment services that alleviate burdens by providing onsite deployment assistance.
