Introducing an Ecosystem of Manufacturing Solutions to Improve Performance at Every Touchpoint

Delta, a global leader in power management and smart green solutions, has officially announced the launch of its smart manufacturing solutions.

According to certain reports, this assortment of solutions will leverage the company’s Cognitive Module to recognize voice commands and adapt to dynamic environments. Such a mechanism, like you can guess, really goes the distance to facilitate intuitive and efficient human-robot collaboration.

Delta will also took this opportunity to unveil the Cobot’s integration with NVIDIA Omniverse, a platform of SDKs, libraries, APIs and services for developing Physical AI applications, which improved development and deployment efficiency with high-fidelity simulations.

Anyway, more on the new solutions lineup would reveal how they combine Delta’s smart equipment, the Virtual Machine Development Platform DIATwin, and the Inline Management Solution Line Manager to virtually simulate and validate machine recipes. The idea here behind that is to significantly reduce prototyping costs and downtime of physical tuning, accelerating line deployment and new product development across factories.

Keeping that in mind, Delta’s latest innovations have their applications rooted, by and large, in domains like warehousing and logistics, semiconductor manufacturing, and data center.

Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the company’s Collaborative Robot (Cobot) with AI Cognitive Module.

In essence, AI Cognitive Module makes it possible for the Cobot to fulfill the needs of fast changeovers and flexible manufacturing. This enables the latter to seamlessly perform tasks by voice commands, and at the same time, adapt to dynamic environments with real-time path adjustment for precise, safe pick and place.

The technology in question markedly features payload range of 6–30 kg, IP66 protection, and Reflex Safety technology, all of it coming together to make the solution an ideal proponent for use cases such as automotive and electronics assembly loading/unloading, and logistics handling.

In case that wasn’t enough, the solution can also integrate with NVIDIA Omniverse. This involves utilizing AI physics engines to enable high-fidelity simulation, accelerate application and behavior validation, as well as enhance deployment efficiency.

Next up, there is a cyber-physical integration demo line. The stated demo line effectively connects smart equipment with digital platforms to accelerate cross-regional production line deployment and iteration. It further features; at launch, Delta’s Virtual Machine Development Platform DIATwin, Inline Management Solution Line Manager, and smart equipment including Delta’s Cobot, D30 Inserter, along with the Reconfigurable Transformer Machine (RTM) for Glue Dispensing.

Another detail worth a mention relates to prospect of machine connectivity & digital management.  You see, Delta’s factory-level smart solutions focus on synchronizing data flows through Line Manager, which is tasked with connecting IT and OT systems to enable rapid line changeovers and data-driven decision-making.

For instance, if we look at it from the perspective of IT systems, Line Manager collects the right data from the shop floor for analysis and visualization to reach upon optimal decisions. As for the OT systems, updates of recipes and operations instructions are implemented to machines in real time for fast changeovers.

Not just that, thanks to the availability of this Line Manager, users can also come expecting to access key metrics including throughput rates, changeover progress, and root cause analysis.

Beyond that, Delta has introduced a smart machine connectivity solution named Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5 and HMI DOP-300. The given solution can support WiFi and mainstream protocols for smooth data exchange of IIoT.

While AX-5 executes programs within nanoseconds for multi-tasking operations including communication, multi-axis control, and logical computing, the HMI DOP-300 conducts real-time monitoring of warehouse equipment via mobile devices before uploading data to the Warehouse Management System DIAWMS for analysis.

As an AI-powered Enterprise WLAN Solution, the underlying technology can even intelligently optimize wireless access point connections, something which ensures uninterrupted connectivity even when in motion.

Rounding up highlights would be group of e-vehicle charging solutions. These solutions include a MOOVbase Modular Charging Systems, designed for fast and safe e-vehicle charging, offering up to 30 kW power and enhanced charging speed with up to 640A.

There is also a Multi-port Charging System. Made to act as an extension for MOOVbase, this solution can clock a highly efficient power distribution to charge up to three industrial vehicles simultaneously.
